Bayer's preventive care campaign
"Your animal's welfare" is the slogan of a major animal health
campaign that Bayer Vital is planning to hold in ten German cities up to
the middle of August. A vet at the company's mobile information centre will
offer medical check-ups on dogs and cats, answer vital questions about animal
health and give tips on the appropriate preventive care of pets.
Highly satisfied with Interzoo
Interzoo '98 at Nuremberg was given high marks by exhibitors. According
to a survey carried out by the fair organisers, about 76 per cent of participants
considered their company's success rate either "good" or "very
good". Among trade visitors as many as 97 per cent were satisfied or
very satisfied with the product offer. The organisers believe that the high
level of satisfaction stems from the fact that practically all exhibitors
succeeded in reaching their most important target groups. A whole 99 per
cent had visitors from countries outside Germany, 96 per cent succeeded
in making new business contacts, 75 per cent recorded direct orders at Interzoo
'98. And 91 per cent were expecting lively business after the show as a
result of the contacts made during the fair and new leads to follow up.
Participation again at Interzoo 2000 has already been decided by 82 per
cent of the direct exhibitors. A further 15 per cent are giving careful
consideration to the matter. The next Interzoo will be held at Nuremberg
from 4 to 7 May 2000.
Aquarama in Singapore
The 6th Aquarama is due to take place at the World Trade Centre in Singapore
from 3 to 6 June 1999. Despite the economic problems facing South-East Asia
the organisers are optimistic that the world's biggest fair for aquarists
will be a tremendous success again next year. A new feature will be a Singapore
Pavilion of 260 m2 where the main fish breeding associations and other organisations
will have a presence. For Aquarama 1999 four new categories are to be added
to the ornamental fish competition, which has already become a traditional
part of the fair.
Aquarama intends to consolidate its position as the world's leading
trade fair for aquarists.
New form of packaging
A form of packaging totally new to the pet food business is due to be
launched for retailing this year. It is known as "Petcup", a cross
between a bowl and a tin, which was presented for the first time at a recent
specialist seminar in Chicago. This unusual packaging has been developed
jointly by Spillers UK and packaging…
