Europet moves house
Recently Europet Benelux B.V. moved to new premises at Gemert in the
Netherlands. The new high-stacking warehouse contains approximately 2 500
m2 of storage space as well as an additional smaller area of approximately
1 000 m2. Use is also made from time to time of a forwarding warehouse as
a buffer store for newly imported goods. Office pre-mises complete with
a room for conference and display purposes adjoin the warehouse. The current
Europet product offer at present takes up approximately 2 800 articles of
storage space. A number of interesting new products will be added to this
selection within the next few months. The company also has a branch in Nuremberg
in addition to its headquarters in Gemert.
Zoomark in Milan
Zoomark, the international pet trade fair, will take place in Milan for
the eighth time between 6 and 9 May. Zoomark is regarded as one of the major
pet trade fairs in Europe, along with Interzoo in Nuremberg and Expozoo
in Paris.
Kiebitzmarkt expanding
In 1997 the Kiebitzmarkt franchise organisation achieved a 16.8 per cent
increase in sales. After attaining the total of 51 stores by the end of
last year, this spring the group will be opening further outlets in Kirchhaim,
Balve, Dülmen, Bad Ems, Meerbusch and Legden. The franchise organisation
expects to have reached a total of more than 60 stores by the end of this
year.
Course set for expansion: the Kiebitzmarkt franchise organisation.
Interzoo increasingly international
More than 850 direct exhibitors will be partici-pating at Interzoo in
Nuremberg from 14 to 17 May. This is an increase of about 150 exhibitors,
or 20 per cent, on the last event two years ago. The number of foreign exhibitors
has risen by more than one quarter over the 1996 Interzoo fi-gures. Italy
notched up the highest rate of increase at 32 per cent, followed by the
Netherlands with 13 per cent and the USA with 12 per cent.
The biggest Interzoo of all time is on the agenda for 1998.
Success with SagaFlor
The "simply fabulous" garden centres of the SagaFlor specialist
co-operative of Baunatal, Germany, achieved sales of DM 350 Mio in 1997.
This means that the turnover of the 48 outlets grew by 25 per cent. The
own-brand programme introduced in January 1997 proved to be particularly
successful with its 19 fertilizer products and 4 potting composts. The range
of pro-ducts has been considerably increased as a result.
